Bertani
Description
Cantina Bertani, founded in 1857 by brothers Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani, is an icon of Italian wine with a rich history and an innovative imprint still evident today. The winery, located between Grezzana and the Novare Estate in Valpolicella Classica, played a crucial role in the development of the famous Amarone, whose first vintage dates back to 1958.
Bertani is distinguished by an approach that balances respect for tradition and adaptability to modern market needs, while always maintaining a deep connection with its territory. The commitment to quality is manifest at every stage of production, from vineyard care to winemaking, following sustainable and meticulously controlled practices.
Recently, under the leadership of Angelini Wines & Estates, Bertani has continued to expand and enhance its heritage while maintaining a balance between modernity and tradition. An example of this commitment can be seen in the renovation of the historic winery and the introduction of dedicated hospitality spaces, which allow visitors to immerse themselves in the company’s history and production processes.
The winery is also famous for the Amarone “Library,” a project that includes the preservation of historic vintages, allowing the evolution of the wine through the decades to be appreciated. This collection reflects Bertani’s identity, characterized by wines that express elegance, refinement, and complexity as well as great capacity for bottle aging.
Bertani remains true to its distinctive style, producing wines that are not only expressions of Valpolicella’s terroir, but also ambassadors of Italian wine around the world
