Ceretto

Ceretto Famaly

Description

The Ceretto family’s history in winemaking began in the 1930s, when Riccardo Ceretto, a native of Santo Stefano Belbo, laid the foundations of what would become one of the most important and respected wineries in the Langhe. As the decades passed, new generations expanded the winery, selecting a mosaic of high-value vineyards in the most prestigious crus of Barolo, such as Brunate, Bussia, Prapò, Cannubi San Lorenzo, Bricco Rocche, and Barbaresco, such as Bernadot and Asili.

These lands, renowned for their ability to express the complexity of terroir, have seen continuous evolution in cultivation and winemaking techniques.

Pioneers of sustainability, the Cerettos adopted organic farming more than two decades ago, revolutionizing their methods to minimize environmental impact. The farm avoids the use of chemicals, favoring natural treatments such as sulfur and copper and practicing green manure to enrich the soil. The grassing of the rows has encouraged lush biodiversity, creating an ecosystem in perfect balance. In the winery, the minimalist approach enhances the purity of the grapes and the typicality of the terroir, resulting in wines that authentically tell the story of the beauty of the Langhe

Ceretto also stands out for its commitment to integrating modern architecture with winemaking tradition. Some of the most notable examples are “The Cube” and “The Grape” built in the early 2000s. These structures serve as vantage points and tasting rooms, offering 360-degree views of the surrounding vineyards while offering a contemporary design that respects the Langa landscape.
