Crissante Alexandria
Description
Azienda Agricola Crissante Alessandria, located in Santa Maria di La Morra in the heart of the Langhe, is a family-run winery with a history dating back to 1958. Founded by Crissante Alessandria and his wife Teresa, the winery began by vinifying grapes from its own vineyards, previously sold to major wineries in the area.
The winery’s vineyards cover about 6 hectares, located in the prestigious areas of Capalot, Galina and Roggeri within the commune of La Morra and Monvigliero in the commune of Verduno. These areas are renowned for producing high quality grapes, thanks to ideal soils and microclimates for viticulture.
The winery’s production includes a range of wines that express the typical characteristics of the area.
Vinification follows traditional methods, with long fermentations, pumping over and manual punching down. Aging takes place in a balance of barriques, tonneaux and medium-sized classic barrels, respecting the peculiarities of each wine.
Today, the winery is led by Michele Alessandria, Crissante’s son, together with his sons Alberto and Luca. Alberto, after completing his oenological studies, introduced new practices in the winery.
The winery’s philosophy is based on respect for tradition and terroir, with a focus on the quality and authenticity of the wines produced. The goal is to express the full potential of native grape varieties, enhancing the unique characteristics of each vineyard.
