Federico Graziani
Description
Federico Graziani is a prominent figure on the Italian wine scene, known for his journey from successful sommelier to winemaker on Mount Etna.
He began his professional career at the age of 19 and, at only 23, won the Italian Sommelier Association’s competition as Italy’s best sommelier in 1998.
In 2006, during a visit to Sicily with his friend Salvo Foti, Federico became fascinated by the ancient local production areas and the wines of Etna. This encounter prompted him to take up winemaking, with the goal of creating wines that reflect the essence of the Etnean territory.
Federico now owns vineyards located on the northern slope of Etna, in districts such as Montelaguardia, Solicchiata and Passopisciaro.
Federico’s philosophy is based on respect for local traditions and the enhancement of Etna’s terroir. He uses non-invasive winemaking methods, spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts and aging in steel or large barrels in order to preserve the authenticity and freshness of his wines.
Federico Graziani’s wines are appreciated internationally for their elegance and ability to express the peculiarities of the Etna territory. His experience as a sommelier allows him to create wines that satisfy both wine lovers and wine critics.
