Marchesi di Gresy

Marchesi di Gresy Alberto

Description

Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Gresy represents a historic Piedmontese winery, with roots dating back to the late 18th century. The di Gresy family has owned the estate since 1797, and in 1973, under the leadership of Alberto di Gresy, they began making wine from their own grapes, transforming the estate into a prestigious winery.

The main estate is Martinenga, a 12-hectare natural amphitheater in the heart of the Barbaresco appellation, considered one of the best cru in the area. Martinenga is the only Barbaresco Additional Geographical Mention to be a monopoly, entirely cultivated and vinified by the di Gresy family.

A diverse combination of wooden containers, including oak barrels, both new and used, and large 25-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels, are used to age Barbaresco, the main pillar of the winery’s winemaking offerings.

The Marchesi di Gresy’s Cisa Asinari Estates are dedicated to creating wines of the highest level, aiming for a balance where power is restrained in favor of marked refinement and an intimate connection with the local landscape. Barbaresco is of course the focus of the winery, with its three renowned crus ‘Martinenga’, ‘Gaiun Martinenga’ and the Riserva ‘Camp Gros Martinenga’.

The goal is to operate to the best of our ability while respecting tradition and transferring the character and identity of the terroir of origin from the vineyard to the bottle.
