Castello dei Rampolla

Castello dei Rampolla

Description

Located in the heart of Chianti Classico, in the beautiful area of Panzano, the Castello dei Rampolla estate is one of Tuscany’s most emblematic and visionary realities. Owned by the Di Napoli Rampolla family since 1739, the winery began its modern rise in the 1970s, thanks to the intuition of Alceo Di Napoli, a revolutionary figure who was able to interpret the potential of the territory with a radically innovative approach.

Alceo’s work has led to the birth of great wines that have marked the history of Italian winemaking, introducing pioneering practices and maniacal attention to the quality of the fruit in the area. The decision to adopt biodynamics as early as the 1990s, long before it became central in the wine world, testifies to the family’s deep sensitivity to the land and natural balance.

The vineyards, cultivated with the utmost respect for the ecosystem, are located in one of the most vocated areas of Chianti Classico, characterized by marl soils, strong temperature ranges and ideal altitudes. Here wines are born that combine intensity, elegance and extraordinary mineral depth, capable of evolving gracefully for decades.

In the winery, the approach is essential and respectful: spontaneous fermentations, minimal intervention and calibrated aging allow the purity of the fruit and the transparency of the terroir to emerge. Thanks to this rigorous, non-interventionist style, labels such as Sammarco and Vigna d’Alceo are now considered among the greatest Italian red wines, sought after by wine enthusiasts around the world.

Today the estate is led by Luca and Maurizia Di Napoli, who carry on their father’s vision with absolute consistency, maintaining Castello dei Rampolla as an indispensable reference for those seeking authenticity, depth and a sincere and original expression of Chianti Classico.
