Fontodi
Description
Situated in the heart of Chianti Classico, in the famed Conca d’Oro of Panzano in Chianti, the Fontodi estate stands as one of the finest expressions of contemporary Tuscan winegrowing. For over forty years, the Manetti family has guided the winery with the same passion and artisanal care that have distinguished them for generations in their work with terracotta, bringing that same dedication and precision to the cultivation of the vine.
Fontodi’s philosophy is rooted in a concept of total quality, where respect for nature, innovation, and tradition coexist in perfect balance. The vineyards are fully certified organic, managed with sustainable practices aimed at preserving soil vitality and environmental purity. Situated at altitudes between 400 and 500 meters, the vines benefit from an ideal exposure and a unique microclimate that encourages slow, even ripening.
In the cellar, the approach is guided by rigor and sensitivity: spontaneous fermentations, carefully calibrated aging in wood, and meticulous attention to every detail allow the estate to produce wines that combine power, elegance, and a transparent expression of their terroir.
Today, Fontodi stands as a model of consistency, precision, and authenticity, where the art of winemaking meets the vision of those who have transformed a corner of Tuscany into a global benchmark for Sangiovese.
