Le Ragnaie
Description
Le Ragnaie Farm, located in Montalcino, is deeply rooted in the philosophy of organic viticulture, emphasizing respect for the geological diversity and biodiversity of its environment. This estate stands out for its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the terroir through sustainable agricultural practices. Its emblematic vineyards include Fornace, Loreto, Montosoli, Cava Nuova and Vecchia, Casanovina Montosoli, Ragnaie, Cantina, and Petroso.
The vineyards stand on different soil types: from those rich in clays and calcilutites to those with the presence of sandstones and siltstones, offering a variety of microclimates that are reflected in the complex profiles of the wines.
After the harvest, the grapes are sorted on a vibrating sorting table where the best bunches are chosen. The musts are fermented and macerated in concrete vats where, with the help of manual pumping over, they remain from 25 to 90 days.
After pressing, the wines rest in the cooperage and mature in large Slavonian oak barrels. After bottling, the wines rest in a temperature- and humidity-controlled environment until release.
This meticulous winemaking process, coupled with the resting of the wines in a controlled environment before release, allows the wines to fully reflect the uniqueness of their specific terroirs, expressing the diversity and richness of the Montalcino wine landscape.
