Oddero Poderi
Description
The Poderi Oddero winery is a historic brand in Piedmont wine-growing, with roots going back to the 18th century. Founded by Giovanni Battista Oddero in La Morra, the winery was later led by his son Giacomo, who began bottling and exporting wines in 1878.
Today, the winery is run by Mariacristina and Mariavittoria, daughters of Giacomo Oddero, who carry on the family tradition with a production philosophy aimed at respect for tradition and certified organic cultivation. The winery is located in La Morra, in Frazione Santa Maria, and boasts vineyards located in some of the best and sunniest areas of Barolo and Barbaresco.
Poderi Oddero Winery’s production includes a wide range of fine wines, including Barolo, Barbaresco, Langhe Nebbiolo, Dolcetto d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba, Barbera d’Asti and Moscato d’Asti. These wines are perfect expressions of the Piedmont terroir, combining ancient wisdom and modern production techniques with patience and tenacity.
The historic winery consists of two areas: one used for winemaking and the other formed by the 18th-century cellars, where the aging and refinement of the wines takes place. A few steps from the historic buildings stands the new winery, designed according to insulation and energy-saving techniques, a contribution of the new generation to the long history of the Oddero
