Pierre Morey
Description
Domaine Pierre Morey, located in the heart of Burgundy, is one of the region’s most iconic and respected wineries. With a history rooted in 1793, this family business embodies the essence of Burgundy, producing wines that express the extraordinary richness of its terroirs.
We are in Meursault, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, one of the most celebrated areas for the production of Chardonnay-based white wines. The vineyards are spread over prestigious parcels in the communes of Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Monthélie, managed with the utmost care to respect the terroir.
The region’s soils, rich in limestone and clay, are ideal for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, offering wines of extraordinary complexity, finesse and elegance. Each parcel is worked with the aim of best expressing the peculiarities of the terroir.
Pierre Morey was one of the pioneers of biodynamic viticulture in Burgundy, embracing this approach as early as the 1990s. Each vineyard is cultivated following biodynamic principles, which involve the exclusive use of natural preparations and the harmonization of agricultural activities with lunar cycles. This approach, combined with careful and respectful winemaking, ensures wines that faithfully reflect the character of the terroir.
While remaining faithful to the centuries-old Burgundy tradition, Maison Pierre Morey is always open to innovation. Every decision, from the vineyard to the winery, is guided by the pursuit of excellence and the desire to respect the delicate balance of the ecosystem.
Vinification is done naturally, with spontaneous fermentations and a measured use of wood, to preserve the authenticity of the fruit and terroir. This artisanal approach makes it possible to produce wines with a unique personality and an extraordinary capacity for aging.
With more than two centuries of history, Maison Pierre Morey is an example of Burgundian excellence passed down from generation to generation. Today, the family continues to work with the same passion and dedication, producing wines that are a reflection of an extraordinary land and unique savoir-faire.
