Produttori del Barbaresco

Produttori del Barbaresco

Description

The Cantina Produttori del Barbaresco was founded in 1958 by Don Fiorino, the priest of the village of Barbaresco, and a group of 19 winemakers. This cooperative was created with the aim of improving the economic conditions of smallholders by allowing them to produce wine collectively. Production began in the underground premises of the church and then moved to the building across the square, where it still stands today. Over time, the cooperative has grown to now include 52 members who manage more than 100 hectares of Nebbiolo vineyards, distributed among several small plots, each cultivated with dedication and respect for the surrounding area.

The winery’s wines reflect the unique terroir of Barbaresco, characterized by rolling hills, historic vineyards and soils composed of limestone marls and clays. The cooperative is renowned for its traditional approach to winemaking, which includes long macerations and aging in large wooden barrels. These practices not only preserve tradition but also enhance the qualities of Nebbiolo, helping to produce wines of excellent quality and complexity.

Respect for tradition is combined with a modern, sustainable approach to viticulture, with agronomic practices that minimize environmental impact while ensuring quality excellence in each vintage. The winery uses advanced technologies to monitor winemaking while maintaining a strong connection to the experience and human touch of local winemakers.

Today, Cantina Produttori del Barbaresco continues to be an example of how cooperation can elevate the quality and reputation of a wine-growing region by supporting small producers and promoting responsible, high-quality wine production.
