Description

The story of the Vietti family is deeply intertwined with that of the Langhe, a land that has given birth to some of the world’s greatest wines. The origins of the winery date back to the late nineteenth century in Castiglione Falletto, the vibrant heart of Barolo. It is here that, generation after generation, the Vietti family has built a legacy of excellence founded on passion, intuition, and an unwavering respect for the land.

In the 1960s, under the enlightened guidance of Alfredo Currado, the winery experienced a decisive turning point. Currado was among the first to believe in the potential of individual crus, selecting and vinifying historic parcels such as Rocche di Castiglione and Brunate separately, thus contributing to the birth of the modern concept of “cru” in Barolo.
Today, Vietti vinifies more than ten distinct crus of Barolo and Barbaresco, sourced from some of the most renowned vineyards in the Langhe, each capable of expressing the territory’s unique identity.

Vietti’s philosophy combines artisanal rigor with contemporary sensibility: each wine is the result of deep knowledge of the vineyards and meticulous work that prioritizes the authentic expression of the land. In the cellar, the approach is guided by a balance between tradition and innovation, with a thoughtful use of large oak casks and a constant focus on elegance and longevity.

Since 2016, the winery has been part of the American Krause family, who have chosen to preserve and enhance the legacy of the Currado Vietti family, maintaining the same commitment to quality and the artisanal identity that have always defined its production.
Under the supervision of Luca and Elena Currado, who continued to lead the technical and stylistic direction for several years after the transition, Vietti has further strengthened its position among the most prestigious estates in the Langhe.

Each Vietti bottle tells a story of place, dedication, and authenticity, embodying the refined identity of the noblest expression of Piedmont.
